This
four-sided clock was made by the firm of O. B. McClintock and
was purchased by First National Bank in 1924. It is in cast
iron housing and its four faces point north, south, east, and
west. The minute and hour hands were activated by an electrical
mercury switch, and the hands on each of the faces moved abruptly,
rather than gradually, to the next minute and hour.
The
Walton
County Heritage Association is in the process of getting
an estimate to restore the sidewalk clock and the master clock,
which is inside the brick building on the right, to their original
working condition.
